STRUCTURAL ALIGNMENT · MOVEMENT · NERVOUS SYSTEM

Reconnecting people with their bodies.

Gravity Aligned is a movement wellness studio in Fayetteville, NY built around a different idea: your body is always learning, adapting and responding to how you move, recover and live.

We work with people who want to feel at home in their bodies again whether something has gradually become harder, an old limitation keeps returning, or they simply don't want getting older to decide what they can and cannot do.

Gravity Aligned was created from a simple belief: The human body is designed to adapt.

Why we exist

Modern life asks a lot of the body while giving it fewer opportunities to move in the ways it was built to. Hours sitting, repetitive routines, stress, old injuries, and simply doing what needs to get done can slowly change what feels comfortable or possible.

Often, you don't notice what's disappearing until something you used to do without thinking suddenly requires thought.

The patterns we're up against

What modern life asks of the body.

01

Hours Sitting.

Your body gets good at what you give it.

Work, driving, screens, and long days can mean spending more time in a few familiar positions and less time reaching, rotating, squatting, walking, and moving through your full range.

02

Constant Stress.

Your body doesn't always get the “all clear."

Deadlines, responsibilities, poor sleep, and being needed by everyone else can make it difficult to fully come down from the demands of the day.

03

Less Movement.

The things you stop doing get harder to do.

Maybe you stopped running. Then hiking. Then getting down on the floor. Not because you decided to give them up but because somewhere along the way, they stopped feeling easy.

Less Connection.

04

You learn to work around things.

You favor one side. Avoid a certain position. Stop reaching as far. Take the easier route. Small accommodations can become so normal that you forget you're making them.

The body is remarkably good at getting you through the day. Sometimes the strategies that help you get through today are the same ones that begin limiting what you can do tomorrow.

Where you feel it
isn’t always where it begins.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

A stiff hip can change the way you walk. An old shoulder injury can change how you lift. Stress can show up as tension you carry all day. And years of working around one limitation can quietly create another.

That’s why we don’t begin and end with the place that bothers you. We look at what else may be contributing and how your body is working as a whole.

REpattern. REtrain. REbuild.

the gravity aligned method

UNDERSTAND THE LIMITATION · CHANGE THE STRATEGY · BUILD FROM THERE

Our method begins by identifying what is influencing the way you move and function. From there, we retrain movement, build strength and control, and integrate what you learn into everyday life so the changes you make in the studio have value beyond it.

01

REpattern

Find what is driving the limitation.

We assess joint position, mobility, posture, breathing, tension, and movement strategy to identify where your body is compensating or working harder than it needs to.

02

REtrain

Teach the body a better strategy.

We use mobility work, positioning, breath, controlled movement, and repetition to improve coordination and give your body more efficient ways to move.

03

REbuild

Add strength that holds up in life.

We progressively load those improved positions to build strength, stability, control, and resilience for the physical demands of everyday life.

01 — LOOK BEYOND THE SYMPTOM

The whole person matters.

Where you feel something isn't always the whole story. We consider movement, structure, recovery, stress, and the demands of your everyday life before deciding where to begin.

Principles We Practice.

02 — TEACH, DON'T JUST TREAT

You deserve to know why.

We explain what we're seeing, what we're working on, and what you can notice for yourself. Your body shouldn't remain a mystery that only a practitioner can interpret.

What we stand on

03 — BUILD SELF-RELIANCE

We want you to need yourself more.

The goal isn't dependence on appointments. It's becoming better at recognizing what your body is asking for, knowing what you can work on yourself, and knowing when it's time to ask for help.

ENERGY · AWARENESS · INNER work

Stefanie Sterling

Stefanie works with what isn't always visible from the outside. Her work explores the mental, emotional, and energetic layers that can influence how we experience ourselves and move through our lives. Through energy work, guided practices, and deeper self-inquiry, she creates space to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with parts of yourself that can become difficult to hear beneath the demands of everyday life.

Two disciplines. One integrated approach.

STRUCTURE · MOVEMENT · STRENGTH

Jae knows what it's like when your body no longer does what you expect it to. His own long-term movement challenges shaped the way he works today: looking closely at how someone moves, where they compensate, and what needs to become stronger or more coordinated. His approach is practical, progressive, and built around helping people return to the things they don't want to give up.

“Gravity is constant. How we meet it can change. Our work is to help you build a body that moves with greater strength, control, and freedom through every stage of life.”

Our mission

To change what aging asks of the body.

We believe getting older shouldn't automatically mean giving up the things that make you feel like yourself—the hike you used to love, getting down on the floor without thinking twice, carrying your own bags, skiing another season, keeping up on vacation, working in the garden, playing with your kids or grandkids, or saying yes to something physical without first wondering whether your body can handle it.

You shouldn't have to start making your life smaller because your body feels older than you do.

What have you stopped doing because of your body?

Maybe it's something big. Maybe it's something you barely noticed yourself giving up. Your Alignment Assessment™ gives us a place to start by looking at how you're moving today and what may be standing between you and the things you'd like to do again.
